Opening Dates & Times
The Nursery is open to children from 8.30a.m Monday to Friday. From Monday to Thursday, the Nursery closes at 6.00p.m and on Fridays, at 5.30p.m. Places for children can be on either a full-time or part-time basis. The hours for a child attending a full day are as given above (the nursery opening hours). Below is a table of the session times for part time children.

Please note that although we close at 6pm (5.30pm on a Friday), we do ask that parents are on the premisis to collect their child 10 minutes before. This is to make sure that all children, parents and staff are out of the building promptly. Due to insurance, the nursery would not be covered for any accidents that occur after these times.
It is best for children coming in the mornings to join their group before 10.00a.m so that they can join in the full routine. You can be more flexible over collecting your child early if you wish. Please note that it is considered inadvisable for a child to be in the Nursery for the maximum possible time (9 hours 30 minutes) as this makes for a very long day. Please keep within the opening times. After 6.00p.m, staff are not able to stay to care for children collected late, and also it is not a happy experience for a child to be the only one left, with a single member of staff, after everyone else has gone. Parents who arrive after 6.00p.m to collect their child will be subject to a fine of £3.25 for up to 10 minutes and after 10 minutes will be subject to £10.00.
The Nursery is open every week, except for those dates when the University is closed for public holidays and the closure at Christmas. There are four further closure days, which give an opportunity for building and equipment maintenance, and for staff to discuss and plan for the Nursery’s future activities and policies. These are usually two days during the Easter period and two days at the October school half term break. Please note that we are unable to offer refunds for these 'closure' days, nor are we able to swap a child's session (for part-time parents).
Part-time places for babies are normally either two or three full days per week. For toddlers and top-enders, different arrangements for part-time attendance may be possible subject to the availability of places. Please note that fees for part-time places are payable per session used (session = a morning or an afternoon). Part-time places are fixed arrangements and the sessions used cannot vary from week to week.
