Mulberry Bear Day Nursery (formerly The Open University Children's Centre) is committed to providing high quality childcare and education for all its children through play in an enriched environment. Working under the guidance of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) our children are supported in becoming autonomous learners accessing appropriate, stimulating activities which reflect their individual learning journeys.

As a workplace nursery (based at the Open University Milton Keynes Campus) we share a unique relationship with the university enabling us to provide cost effective childcare to university employees.

There are 54 places for children ranging from babies to school age. Each group has its own designated areas for play, sleeping, eating and quiet activities with all children meeting up at various times of the day. In addition to indoor play space we benefit from two beautiful spacious gardens and the local environment around the University's campus.

We have a highly qualified and stable staff team including nursery officers with NNEB qualifications or equivalent, nursery assistants with NVQ level 2 and a graduate leader with Early Years Professional Status.

Our opening times are 8.30am to 6.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 5.30pm on Friday. The Nursery is open all year except for approximately one week over Christmas, Bank Holidays and four additional days (shared over the year) for staff training needs.

The Nursery is committed to a policy of equal opportunities with non-sexist and non-racist care; violent toys and games are discouraged.  The Nursery is following the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. More information can be found here.
